Some points of note when dealing with A-Level physics:

• The units m/s will now be referred to as ms^-1 these are the same thing.
• A-Level physics is also often concerned with using SI units. This simply means using meters for distance instead of miles, or kilograms instead of stone. The following are the SI for their respective quantities:

• Questions in the exam will often ask for a definition. This can often be given simply as an equation, for example a definition for speed can be given as ‘distance travelled divided by time taken’.
• The symbol Δ may be used, this means ‘change’ e.g. Δtime means ‘change in time’.
